I ride my bike approximately 2000 miles a year. I really like the frame styling of this bike. It is ultra comfortable to ride. Easy handling and nimble. However after a break failure I realized if your rear break cable fails, you are left with no back up front break as they are tied into each other. Also you have no control of how much or when your front breaks will engage as it is handled by the rear break pressure. If the front break is wet it tends to clamp onto the front rim hard enough to slam you to the ground. I replaced the slide pad system with standard breaks and added a front break lever. All is well and I love this bike. I actually bought one for my brother I like it so much. Replaced the slide pad system on it also. Happy riding
I just got it......It truly is the lightest bike I ever have ridden... worth the cost... for distance riding... and comfort trails... I look forward to using the bike as often as possible...
I am an avid downtown Orlando biker riding to and from work every day approxamatly 5 miles total. I ride about 10 miles in the evening almost every day. I enjoy tooling around town as well as aggressive curb jumping, bombing through parking garages and all around kicking it. The hudson Sport can take it all and hand it back in luxurious style. The mega low gear eats up the steepest incline while seventh gear is sufficient for most all urban jaunts. The styling of the Hudson sport gets a lot of comments. People really seem to respond to the sleek clean lines that stay firmly planted in the now while leaning towards a retro feel. The breaking system is a real cool deal. Only one break lever for both breaks...it works like a dream. It took a little tweeking the adjustment but wow, its smooth and completely reliable. The stock saddle is ultra comfortable. However I replaced mine with a Brooks flyer for looks as well as comfort. I also replaced the riser handle bars with even higher BMX handlebars which has alowwed me to ride in an even more upright relaxed position I enjoy riding this bike as well as the compliments I get from others Cons: The pedals are low to the ground so be careful when making sharp turns.
